What are the classifications of acid and alkali resistant stainless steel pipes

The classification of acid and alkali resistant stainless steel pipes mainly includes ferritic acid and alkali resistant stainless steel pipes, austenitic acid and alkali resistant stainless steel pipes, austenitic-ferritic acid and alkali resistant stainless steel pipes, martensitic stainless steel, and precipitation hardening type acid and alkali resistant stainless steel pipes.

Ferritic acid-resistant and alkali-resistant stainless steel pipe: The chromium content ranges from 12% to 30%. As the chromium content increases, its corrosion resistance, toughness and weldability improve, and it has a particularly good resistance to chloride stress corrosion.

Austenitic acid and alkali resistant stainless steel pipe: Contains more than 18% chromium, usually also contains about 8% nickel and small amounts of molybdenum, titanium, nitrogen, etc. It has excellent comprehensive performance and can withstand corrosion from various media.

Austenitic-Ferritic Acid-Resistant Stainless Steel Tube: Combining the advantages of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel, it has excellent superplasticity and good relative machinability.

Martensitic stainless steel: Although it has high strength, its plasticity and weldability are poor, which may pose some challenges in production.

Prestressing hardening acid-alkali resistant stainless steel pipe: It has excellent forming performance and weldability, and is suitable for applications requiring ultra-high strength materials, such as in the nuclear industry, aviation and aerospace industries.

Furthermore, based on the different components, stainless steel can be classified into the Cr series, Cr-Ni series, Cr-Mn-Ni series and precipitation hardening series. These classifications further refine the properties and application fields of stainless steel.
