What surface treatments are available for stainless steel capillaries
The surface processing of the stainless steel capillary tube includes gas protection welding, acid pickling and passivation, bright annealing, and cold drawing, etc.
Gas shielded welding: This type of welding is carried out under gas protection, which prevents the chromium and nickel on the surface of stainless steel from being oxidized, thus preserving the original characteristics and corrosion resistance of the stainless steel tubing.
Acid pickling and passivation: Through acid pickling and passivation treatment, a thin, dense and hard passivation film can be formed on the inner and outer walls of stainless steel pipes. This is the fundamental reason why stainless steel capillary tubes can prevent corrosion.
Solidification treatment: After the stainless steel capillary tube undergoes forming and welding processes, it must undergo a 1050-degree solidification treatment to eliminate the internal stress caused by deformation, reduce stress corrosion, and restore the intergranular changes during the welding process of the pipe fitting.
Cold drawing: This process is carried out at room temperature. By applying a tensile stress greater than the yield strength of the original stainless steel pipe, the pipe is forcibly stretched to undergo plastic deformation, with the aim of increasing the yield strength of the pipe material and saving materials.
These surface processing techniques ensure the quality and stability of the stainless steel capillary tubes, while also enhancing their service life and accuracy.
