How many grades does stainless steel 304 have

Stainless steel 304 is mainly divided into the following grades:

1. Basic 304 Stainless Steel: This is the most basic 304 stainless steel grade, also known as 18-8 stainless steel, containing approximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel. It has excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, and is suitable for a wide range of applications, such as construction, manufacturing, food processing, etc.

2. 304L Stainless Steel: This is the low-carbon version of 304 stainless steel, with a lower carbon content, typically less than 0.03%. It has excellent corrosion resistance and is particularly suitable for applications in corrosive environments, such as in the chemical industry and marine engineering.

3. 304H Stainless Steel: This is the high-carbon version of 304 stainless steel, with the carbon content typically ranging from 0.04% to 0.1%. It has excellent heat resistance and is suitable for manufacturing high-temperature equipment, such as in petroleum refining and stove manufacturing.

4.304N Stainless Steel: This is a type of nitrogen-containing stainless steel. By adding nitrogen elements, its strength and corrosion resistance are enhanced. It has high strength and toughness and is suitable for applications with specific requirements, such as high-pressure vessels and chemical equipment.

5. 304LN Stainless Steel: This is a low-carbon, low-nitrogen version of 304 stainless steel. Due to the addition of titanium and boron elements, its strength has been enhanced, and its brittleness during cold processing has been reduced. Its welding performance has been improved, and it boasts excellent corrosion resistance. It is commonly used in applications in corrosive environments such as in the chemical industry and marine engineering.

In addition, there is food-grade 304 stainless steel. This is a special grade of stainless steel, typically used in applications where it comes into contact with food, such as food processing equipment, kitchen utensils, and food containers. This type of stainless steel must meet strict hygiene and safety standards to ensure that it does not have any adverse effects on food quality.
