How to deal with rust on stainless steel faucets

01. Toothpaste

The best way to remove rust is with this essential item in our lives - toothpaste. First, wet the area with rust with water, then squeeze out the toothpaste and gently scrub it with a soft cloth. After that, rinse it with water. You can repeat this process as many times as you like until the rust is removed. It works every time!

02. White Vinegar

Dip the rusted area evenly with white vinegar. You can also use it together with salt, because white vinegar contains acetic acid, and the iron rust and acetic acid will react.

03. Potato Skins

Using the potato peels (the flesh side) to repeatedly wipe the surface of the stainless steel faucet, you will find that the dirt and scale will gradually be removed.

04. Tomato Sauce

Don't rush to throw away the leftover tomato sauce. Take some of the tomato sauce and apply it to the rusty part of the faucet. Let it stay for about 5 minutes, then wipe it clean with a damp cloth. The rust will disappear immediately.

Extended Information: How to Maintain Stainless Steel Faucets

01 Clean the surface

The faucets in the house often get clogged with dirt. During use, the surface should be cleaned regularly. You can wipe it clean with a clean soft cloth and neutral soap water.

Do not use corrosive chemicals or hard brushes for cleaning, such as ammonia water, detergent powder, toilet cleaner, iron brushes, etc., as this may cause damage to the surface.

02 Rinse

When bleach or various acids are present, immediately rinse with water, then soak in ammonia solution or neutral baking soda solution, and finally wash with neutral detergent or warm water.

03 Turn off the main valve

When the faucet is not used for a long time, it is recommended to turn off the main water valve in the house.

Prevent the tap from corroding due to the long-term presence of tap water in the pipes.
