What factors affect the service life of 304 stainless steel pipes
1. Operating environment is harsh.
The 304 stainless steel pipe inherently possesses the ability to resist atmospheric oxidation and also has the capacity to resist corrosion in media containing acids, alkalis, and salts. Its corrosion resistance varies depending on the chemical composition of the steel, its chemical state, the usage conditions, and the type of environmental medium. It has extremely excellent corrosion resistance. When moved from a dry and clean air environment to a seaside area, the high salt content in the fog will cause rapid rusting, thereby affecting the service life of the 304 stainless steel pipe.
For example: If users use 304 stainless steel pipes in highly polluted areas such as coastal sewage treatment plants, the pipes will rust when they are cleaned with corrosive chemicals.
II. Incorrect processing and installation
When stainless steel processors are manufacturing products and cutting stainless steel pipes or iron, iron filings will be splashed onto the surface of the pipes. 304 stainless steel pipes will rust. If the house walls are painted after installing the stainless steel products, it may also cause rusting.
III. Incorrect Cleaning and Maintenance
Do not use steel ball brushes on the surface of the stainless steel pipe. Otherwise, it will damage the surface of the 304 stainless steel pipe. Moreover, do not use bleach and abrasive materials such as acid-base cleaners. Finally, clean the surface of the 304 stainless steel pipe with water.
The lifespan of 304 stainless steel pipes is long. According to the usage situation of stainless steel pipes from abroad, the lifespan of 304 stainless steel pipes can range from 100 years to as little as 70 years, which is the same as that of buildings.
Of course, the prerequisite is that the 304 stainless steel pipe you bought is not of poor quality. The advantage of 304 stainless steel pipes is their corrosion resistance. If the purchased stainless steel pipe is of good quality, it can be properly maintained and cleaned during use, effectively prolonging the lifespan of the 304 stainless steel pipe.
