How should thin-walled stainless steel water pipes be maintained and cared for
Thin-walled stainless steel water pipes are safe, hygienic, healthy, green and environmentally friendly. They do not contain harmful substances that may precipitate over time, and the pipe walls are smooth without scaling. They can effectively prevent bacteria from adhering to the pipe walls, avoiding secondary pollution of the water quality. Therefore, more and more people are choosing to install stainless steel water pipes nowadays. So, how should we maintain and care for thin-walled stainless steel pipes?
The main reasons for the corrosion of ordinary household stainless steel pipes are as follows:
1. Long-term contact with corrosive substances.
2. Excessive chlorine content in the water.
3. Iron rust entering the pipes during construction and not being cleaned, resulting in localized corrosion due to the long-term accumulation of rust.
4. Using acidic solutions for wiping, causing corrosion on the surface of the pipes.
The maintenance methods for thin-walled stainless steel water pipes are as follows:
1. In daily life, try not to collide the stainless steel pipes with sharp objects. Avoid allowing substances such as soy sauce and oil stains to come into contact with the thin-walled stainless steel pipes, as both can undergo chemical reactions, which may cause the pipes to corrode.
2. If there are signs of rust on the outer layer of the thin-walled stainless steel water pipe, it is necessary to apply a special stainless steel wax specifically designed for rust removal at the rusted areas. After applying the wax for a period of time, perform sanding and cleaning. After cleaning the wax, the outer surface of the water pipe will shine again.
3. If the outer surface gets scratched, apply a small amount of stainless steel care agent on a dry towel, then use a grinding wheel to rub the scratched area until the scratch disappears.
4. Usually, there are stainless steel cleaning powders available in stores. These are used to remove stubborn black spots and oil stains on the surface of stainless steel pipes. Simply sprinkle the powder on the dirt on the stainless steel pipe surface, wait for 3 minutes, then rinse with water. Generally, this can restore the shine of the surface. In general, this method is suitable for small items. Cleaning once a month can keep the stainless steel pipes clean.
5. During the daily welding process, in order to protect the stainless steel water pipes, it is necessary to avoid the friction between the iron filings and sparks generated by cutting and iron products and the stainless steel pipes.
6. It should also be noted that stainless steel pipe products should avoid contact with chloride ions. However, the commonly used paints and neutral self-adhesive materials can still be used normally, and this is not important. You can use them with confidence.
7. During use, be careful not to come into contact with any substances containing acidic components, such as sulfuric acid, nitrate, etc., and organic acids should also be avoided. One should be cautious to prevent contact with cement and lime, in order to minimize the contamination by impurities.
8. During the cleaning process, it is also necessary to avoid using sewage and cleaning agents for cleaning. These are usually precautionary measures for indoor stainless steel pipes. For outdoor stainless steel pipes, they are typically cleaned twice a year. Outdoor stainless steel pipes are generally cleaned manually and combined with rainwater cleaning. Manual cleaning is done using sponges and soapy water. Generally, the combination of rainwater cleaning and manual cleaning has a very good effect on removing dust from the surface of the stainless steel pipes, and can maintain the surface shine of the stainless steel pipes.
The maintenance and care of stainless steel water pipes can be said to be of great significance. One must adhere to it consistently, which can not only extend the service life of the pipes but also keep the thin-walled stainless steel pipes as bright as new.
