What tools should be used for polishing the stainless steel weld seams
When polishing stainless steel weld seams, stainless steel wire wheels can be used. This is one of the commonly used polishing tools.
I. Polishing Methods
For polishing stainless steel weld seams, the main method is mechanical polishing. During polishing, different tools need to be selected according to different polishing levels. Common polishing tools include stainless steel wire wheels, sanding machines, polishing cloth wheels, etc.
Stainless steel wire wheels are one of the commonly used polishing tools. They use high-speed rotating stainless steel wires to polish the weld seam surface through friction and impact.
Sanding machines polish the weld seam surface by using abrasive belts. Different fineness abrasive belts can be selected according to different polishing levels.
Polishing cloth wheels are a soft polishing tool that can be used to polish the surfaces of various shapes of workpieces.
II. Precautions
During the polishing of stainless steel weld seams, the following points should be noted.
1. Before polishing, the weld seam surface should be cleaned to ensure the polishing effect.
2. When performing high-level polishing, low-level polishing should be done first to ensure that the weld seam surface has no scratches or unevenness.
3. When determining the polishing level, it can be confirmed by observing the weld seam surface with a magnifying glass and comparing it with the standard diagram.
4. During operation, the rotational speed of the polishing machine should be controlled to avoid excessive or insufficient polishing, which may affect the polishing effect.
III. Advantages and Disadvantages of Different Tools
Stainless steel wire wheels are one of the commonly used tools for polishing weld seams at present. Their advantages are good polishing effect and fast polishing speed; their disadvantages are that the steel wires left after polishing are prone to secondary pollution.
Sanding machines have the advantages of fine polishing effect and controllable polishing depth, but their disadvantages are that they require longer polishing time and have a narrower application range.
Polishing cloth wheels have the advantage of being able to polish the surfaces of various shapes of workpieces, but their disadvantage is that the polishing effect is not as fine as other tools.
In conclusion, stainless steel wire wheels can be used as one of the main tools for polishing stainless steel weld seams. However, in use, attention should be paid to their shortcomings and application range.
