Inspection of physical properties of stainless steel seamless pipes

1. Domestic seamless pipes supplied according to the performance of the institution are manufactured from ordinary carbon steel in accordance with Class A steel of GB/T700-88 (but the sulfur content must be no more than 0.050% and the phosphorus content no more than 0.045%). Their mechanical properties should comply with the values specified in Table 1 of GB8162-87.

2. Domestic seamless pipes supplied for water pressure tests must ensure the water pressure test as stipulated in the standards.

3. Physical performance tests of imported seamless pipes are conducted in accordance with the relevant standards specified in the contract. Purpose

1. Seamless pipes have a wide range of applications. Commonly used seamless pipes are produced from ordinary carbon structural steel, low alloy structural steel or alloy structural steel through rolling. They have the largest output and are mainly used as pipes for transporting fluids or structural components.

2. According to different uses, they are supplied in three categories: a) supplied based on chemical composition and mechanical properties; b) supplied based on mechanical properties; c) supplied based on water pressure tests. Seamless pipes supplied according to categories a and b, if used to withstand liquid pressure, also need to undergo water pressure tests.

3. Special-purpose seamless pipes include boiler-use seamless pipes, geological-use seamless pipes, and petroleum-use seamless pipes, among others.

1. Seamless steel pipes can be classified into hot-rolled pipes, cold-rolled pipes, cold-drawn pipes, extruded pipes, etc. based on the production methods.

2. According to their shapes, they can be divided into circular pipes and special-shaped pipes. Besides square pipes and rectangular pipes, special-shaped pipes also include elliptical pipes, semi-circular pipes, triangular pipes, hexagonal pipes, convex-shaped pipes, and-shaped pipes.

3. Depending on the material, they are classified as ordinary carbon structural pipes, low-alloy structural pipes, high-quality carbon structural pipes, alloy structural pipes, and stainless pipes.

4. According to their specific uses, there are boiler pipes, geological pipes, petroleum pipes, etc.
