The differences between 202 and 201 stainless steel
1. Stainless steel 202 and 201 are two different types with different materials. In fact, the main difference lies in their composition, with a significant distinction being the difference in corrosion resistance. The 200 series stainless steel belongs to low-nickel high-manganese stainless steel. The nickel content is generally below 4%, and the manganese content is around 8%. It is a nickel-reducing type stainless steel.
2. 202 stainless steel is widely used in architectural decoration, municipal engineering, road guardrails, hotel facilities, shopping malls, glass handrails, public facilities, etc. It is produced by high-precision automated pipe manufacturing equipment through its own electrochemical welding, coiling and forming process. Without any metal filler, it is welded by filling gas protection (both inside and outside the pipe) using the TIG welding method. The welding process is carried out online with solid solution eddy current testing.
3. The 201 stainless steel has certain acid and alkali resistance properties. It has a high density, is free of bubbles and pinholes during polishing, and is an excellent material for manufacturing various watch cases, straps, back covers, etc. It is mainly used for making decorative pipes, industrial pipes, and some shallowly stretched products.
4. In the materials 201 and 202, manganese is commonly present. Using them as material for tableware would pose a threat to human health, and this has been explicitly prohibited by the state.
