The difference between stainless steel decorative pipes and product pipes
01. Decorative pipes are mainly used for decoration and interior finishing, such as stair handrails or shelf props. The surface can be either shiny or matte (with a brushed finish). The focus is on the appearance and the overall look. They are mostly made of welded pipes. The materials used include 201, 202, 301, 304, and 316, etc.
02. Product tube - This term covers a wide range of applications. It can be used in machinery, as well as in water or gas pipelines. It mainly focuses on the material and its mechanical properties, such as corrosion resistance, pressure resistance, tensile strength, etc. The materials are mostly 304 or above. Of course, there are also cases where 201, 202, or 301 are used according to specific requirements. The exact material choice depends on where it is being used.
03. Secondly, there are differences in processing performance. The fabricated tubes have good elongation properties, and the welding is strong. Within the processing standards, they can be expanded, contracted, pulled bent, tapered without cracking. Tubes that are not qualified cannot be called fabricated tubes. Tubes that are not fully welded or welded too thoroughly cannot be further processed and will crack, or the welds will sink.
04. In general, the surface of stainless steel pipe products is smooth and free of peeling, black spots, cracks, scratches, obvious sand holes, and weld seams are flat. The surface of unqualified pipe materials is dull, with much peeling, sand holes, black spots, cracks, scratches, and uneven weld seams.
05. For most of these stainless steel products, post-processing is required. If the surface treatment of the stainless steel pipe is poor and there are many pits, the polishing process will make the pits larger and larger, ultimately making the stainless steel pipe unusable.
06. Secondly, there is another aspect which is related to the production process of the stainless steel pipes. The operators who start and adjust the machines are particularly crucial. They must possess excellent skills. The stainless steel products are made to generate profits through quality.
