What exactly is the solidification and acid washing of stainless steel pipes

With the development of industry, stainless steel water pipes have been increasingly widely used. However, during the usage process, a problem was discovered: the water supply pipes are usually made of stainless steel, while the clear water pipes are often made of plastic or galvanized materials.

I. Solidification of Stainless Steel Pipes

The solidification of stainless steel pipes refers to immersing the pipe materials in water for a certain period of time and then performing acid washing. This can enhance the corrosion resistance and service life of the pipe material. This is a very important step for the piping system. Moreover, it can prevent metal corrosion, reduce water pollution, and other issues. Therefore, if you want to use stainless steel pipes, you should follow the methods provided by us.

1. First, please ensure that the valve model you choose complies with the standard requirements.

2. Secondly, turn on the tap or soft water device and let the tap water flow into the pipe to rinse the inner wall of the pipe.

3. Finally, clean the pipe or replace the new steel pipe as needed.

II. The Effect of Acid Washing on Stainless Steel Pipes

Firstly, we need to understand what acid washing is. In simple terms, it is the process of using acid to soak, clean and remove dirt or grease and other substances adhering to the surface of metal parts. The method of acid washing varies depending on the type of stainless steel water pipe products. Generally speaking, stainless steel faucet products can be cleaned by soaking in an acidic solution and then rinsing with water; while other special products need to be boiled in water or immersed in a certain concentration of hydrochloric acid before use to avoid corrosion of the products. Secondly, not all stainless steel pipes are suitable for this method of removing scale. For those pipe materials with higher corrosion resistance requirements, if they are exposed to the acidity or alkalinity of water for a long time, they are prone to damage. Therefore, in general, except for some areas with harsh environmental conditions such as large water plants and industrial wastewater treatment plants, the tap water that people come into contact with in daily life should be filtered, softened, and dechlorinated water.

III. How to Perform Acid Washing

The solution and acid washing of stainless steel water pipes refer to the application of chemical corrosion to them. Among these, acid washing includes methods such as soaking in sodium hydroxide solution, treatment with sulfuric acid, neutralization with nitric acid, etc. Stainless steel water pipes are very stable at room temperature and are not easily eroded. If they are placed in acidic or alkaline liquids, a chemical reaction will occur and they will gradually dissolve. Usually, when the water flow in the water supply pipe is unstable, the water will flow away. Therefore, to prevent the water from being corroded during the flow process, it is necessary to regularly check whether the water is unobstructed. However, due to hard water quality or excessive impurities in the water, this may also cause the pipeline to leak. Therefore, a pH regulator must be used to balance the acidity and alkalinity of the water. In addition, to ensure that the steel pipes can withstand acid corrosion without leakage, the pipes can be covered with gel coat foam to avoid erosion.
