What causes the production defects of sanitary-grade stainless steel pipes

Hygienic-grade stainless steel pipe fittings are generally used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, beverage production, and home water supply. However, the quality of hygienic-grade stainless steel pipes available on the market varies greatly. What are the common defects that occur in ordinary stainless steel pipes?

Severe defects of sanitary-grade stainless steel pipes: cracks, internal bends, external bends, crushing, delamination, scars, indentation, bulges, etc.

2. General defects of sanitary-grade stainless steel pipes: scratches, blisters, dents, abrasions, minor internal and external straight lines, roll marks, etc.

What causes the defects of precision stainless steel pipes?

This is caused by surface or internal defects of the tube billet.

2. Issues arising during the production process include incorrect design of rolling process parameters, roughness of the mold surface, poor lubrication conditions, and unreasonable design and adjustment of the die pattern.

3. During the processes of heating rolling, heat treatment, and straightening of the precision stainless steel sanitary tubes, if improper temperature control during heating, uneven deformation, unreasonable heating and cooling speeds, or excessive straightening deformation cause excessive residual stress, it is also possible to lead to surface cracks in the cold-drawn sanitary tubes.
