What are the differences in production processes between BA grade and EP grade stainless steel pipes
The production processes of BA grade stainless steel pipes and EP grade stainless steel pipes are different as follows:
Surface treatment method:
BA grade stainless steel pipe: Adopting bright annealing treatment, using inert gas such as argon as the furnace atmosphere at high temperature to avoid material oxidation, and then rapidly cooling to form a uniform, smooth, and oxide free bright surface on the stainless steel surface.
EP grade stainless steel pipe: On the basis of BA grade stainless steel pipe, an electrolytic polishing process has been added. Immerse the stainless steel tube into the electrolyte, and through electrolysis, the small protrusions on the surface of the material are preferentially dissolved, thereby leveling the surface and forming a smoother mirror effect.
Cleaning process:
BA grade stainless steel pipes: typically cleaned using ultrasonic waves and degreased with cleaning agents such as SC2286 to remove surface oil stains and impurities.
EP grade stainless steel pipes: In addition to performing cleaning steps similar to BA grade pipes, high-purity water is also required for purification treatment to meet higher cleanliness requirements.
Precision control:
BA grade stainless steel pipe: The dimensional accuracy can reach ± 0.05mm, and the inner surface roughness Ra can be less than 0.4 microns.
EP grade stainless steel pipe: higher precision requirements, diameter tolerance controlled within ± 0.02mm (0.1%), length tolerance controlled within ± 0.05mm, linear curvature not exceeding 0.1mm/m, finished surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.15 μ m, concentricity tolerance controlled within ± 0.01mm.
