What should be done when stainless steel pipes are scratched
I. Handling of Stainless Steel Tube Scratches
One of the situations where the surface of stainless steel pipes gets scratched is that the welder conducts arc initiation on the surface of the stainless steel pipe, which causes the protective film on the surface to be damaged. The potential corrosive materials are left on it, thereby leading to the corrosion of the stainless steel pipe.
In this case, the corroded stainless steel pipes can be cleaned mechanically after welding (by polishing and grinding the weld points) or repaired for welding defects. Additionally, the rough surface of the stainless steel pipes needs to be restored or re-welded.
The scratched areas can be cleaned to prevent residues or process lubricants from remaining inside the scratches of the stainless steel pipe and corroding the surface of the stainless steel pipe. When cleaning the stainless steel pipe, do not use metal wire cleaning balls to scrub it; instead, use detergent and a soft cloth to wipe it. Do not damage the protective film on the surface of the stainless steel pipe.
