How to identify 304 and 201 stainless steel pipes
The 304 stainless steel water supply pipe has a higher safety factor and stronger performance compared to other water supply pipes, and its wear resistance also meets the requirements. In the current uneven market, the stainless steel water pipes available on the market have different raw materials and thus have varying prices. So, as an ordinary consumer, how do you distinguish between 304 and 201 stainless steel pipes?
Here are three methods to teach you how to distinguish between 304 and 201 stainless steel pipes:
1. Look for the anti-counterfeiting mark on the stainless steel pipe. Stainless steel pipes usually have anti-counterfeiting marks on them. They are usually marked on one of the surfaces of the pipe or pipe fittings. Generally, there will be an anti-counterfeiting mark in the middle of 60 to 100 centimeters, and the anti-counterfeiting mark usually includes such contents: the raw material of the stainless steel pipe, the manufacturer or famous brand of the stainless steel pipe.
2. The surfaces of 304 and 201 stainless steel pipes are generally matte. To distinguish them based on visual inspection with the eyes and tactile examination with the hands: The 304 stainless steel pipe has a very smooth surface that shines brightly, and it feels very smooth when touched; while the 201 stainless steel sheet has a darker color and lacks smoothness, and when touched, it feels uneven and rough. In addition, when wetting your hand and touching the two metal materials, the water stains and fingerprints left on your fingers are easier to wipe off for the 304 stainless steel sheet, but not for the 201.
3. Attach the grinding disc to the polishing machine and slowly polish the two types of plates or pipe materials. During the polishing process, the flame of the 201 raw material is longer, thicker and more numerous. Conversely, the flame of the 304 raw material is shorter, thinner and fewer. Remember to apply gentle pressure and keep the force, direction and other parameters as consistent as possible during the polishing process.
