The differences between zinc pipes and stainless steel pipes

The concepts are different.

● Galvanizing involves coating the outer layer of the steel plate with a layer of metallic zinc. This can prevent the outer layer of the steel plate from being affected by corrosion and extend its service life. Generally, these plates that have undergone galvanizing treatment are called galvanized plates.

● Stainless steel is a type of steel that can resist weak corrosions such as those from air, water vapor, and steam, as well as chemical corrosions from acids, alkalis, and salts.

Different processing techniques

● Galvanized steel pipes have a layer of zinc coated on their surface. This layer of zinc plays a significant role in preventing corrosion, thereby extending the service life of the pipes.

● Stainless steel is steel with additional metal elements added to its interior. The internal structure changes, preventing the product from rusting.

Different application fields

● The uses of galvanized pipes include not only as general low-pressure fluid pipelines for water, gas, oil, etc., but also as oil well pipes and oil pipelines in the petroleum industry, especially in offshore oil fields, oil heating and cooling devices, coal distillation and oil exchangeers in chemical industries, as well as bridge pile pipes and support frames for mines and tunnels.

● Stainless steel pipes are mainly widely used in industrial pipelines for transportation in petroleum, chemical, medical, food, light industry, mechanical instruments, etc., as well as mechanical structural components. In addition, when the bending and torsional strength are the same, they are lighter in weight, so they are also widely used for manufacturing mechanical parts and engineering structures. They are also commonly used in the production of various conventional weapons, gun barrels, cannonballs, etc.
