The cutting technology of stainless steel capillaries
Stainless steel capillary tubes are generally used for signal tubes in automated instruments, protective tubes for automated instrument wires, protective tubes for electronic equipment lines, protection of thermal instrument capillaries, and inner support of hollow high-voltage optical cables. This depends on how high the quality requirements of the pipe fittings are set by the customer, and thus the choice of which process to adopt can be determined. Let's take a look at the introduction of the following four cutting technologies:
1. Grinding wheel cutting: This is currently the most commonly used cutting method. As the name suggests, it uses a grinding wheel as the cutting tool to cut the stainless steel on it. It is also the most cost-effective cutting method. However, due to the fact that it generates many burrs after cutting, a deburring process is required later. Some customers do not have any requirements for burrs on pipe fittings, and this method is the simplest and the most cost-effective.
2. Wire Cutting: This method involves running the stainless steel tubing through a wire-cutting machine for cutting. However, this approach results in color changes at the tube ends. For more demanding buyers, additional processing such as polishing and grinding is required afterwards.
III. Metal disc saw cutting: The cutting edge of the pipe piece using this cutting method has little impact, and several pipes can be cut together, which is very efficient; however, the disadvantage is that the chips are prone to stick to the cutting tool, so when choosing the saw blade, one must be extremely careful.
4. Laser Cutting: The quality of the stainless steel capillary tubes produced by laser cutting is the best. The tube openings have no burrs, the dimensions are precise, the material near the cutting edge is not affected, and it has high efficiency, zero consumables, is safe and environmentally friendly with zero pollution. It can be automatically operated by simply powering on, saving labor. It is generally suitable for customers who have high requirements for the quality of pipe fittings and small dimensional errors, and is mostly used in precision instrument equipment.
This is the introduction to the cutting technology of stainless steel capillary tubes. Different cutting methods have their respective advantages and disadvantages. The specific choice depends on the customer's requirements. Besides, the quality of stainless steel tubes is also affected by the quality of the cutting equipment and the proficiency of the cutting technicians.
